Kikis Sustainability & Environmental Protection

Are there ways to increase sustainability and environmental protection in everyday life? I say: Yes!

A conscious, natural life makes you happy. It helps you focus on what matters and be in harmony with yourself and nature.

Therefore, I would like to invite you to experience sustainability and environmental protection with me and to find your own unique path that suits you and your values. Because what brings us joy, we also succeed in doing so; we want to keep it in our lives, tell others about it, and easily integrate it into our everyday lives. It's not about making everything in life 100% ecological, perhaps because it's mandated from "above," but rather about feeling from deep within yourself what is right for you and what is good for you.

I stand for this with Kikis

What do the terms sustainability and environmental protection actually mean?

Sustainability encompasses the idea of confronting the people living on our planet today with their responsibility for the people of tomorrow. We should be sensitized to using the resources available to us wisely, without depleting them, and to living peacefully with one another. In this way, our children will also be able to live and benefit from them in the years to come.

So you think sustainably when you think about the future of the earth, assume social responsibility and focus on global environmental protection.

For companies, sustainability means considering economic, ecological, and social aspects simultaneously. This also includes fair working conditions and wages for employees.
Did you know that the term sustainability actually has its origins in forestry? The idea behind it is that only as many trees are felled as can grow back. This ensures the survival of trees for future generations and prevents unnecessary exploitation of our forest resources.
Sustainability can be implemented in almost all areas of life. Whether it's shopping, leisure, traveling, cooking, heating, or gardening. Step by step, you can achieve greater sustainability in your everyday life with small changes.

Why is it important to focus on sustainability and environmental protection?

Sustainability has many benefits, both in the short and long term. We cannot preserve our planet's ecosystems if we continue as we are and if more sustainable decisions are not made.
Climate change is progressing, as storms, floods, heatwaves, wildfires, droughts, and other extreme weather events painfully demonstrate.
We must save our planet – from ourselves, because the climate catastrophe is demonstrably human-made.
The environmental problems of our time, such as water scarcity, species extinction, air pollution, overfishing, littering, deforestation, and world hunger, are our own fault, and we bear the responsibility to make a change – now!
We humans tend to like to shift responsibility onto others, such as politics or business, before we change ourselves. But that's exactly how nothing changes.

"Die größte Gefahr für unseren Planeten ist der Glaube, dass jemand anderes ihn rettet."

"Every day we do nothing to combat the climate crisis is a lost day"

Environmental protection means being considerate of other living beings. Not just animals and plants, but also other people.
Through environmental protection, we can conserve resources, protect animals, and save human lives, because environmental protection prevents natural disasters.
By clearing forests for arable land and pasture – or by spraying insecticidal pesticides on our fields – we deprive wild animals of their habitat. Yet we depend on insects. About a third of our food would not exist without bees, which pollinate plants and allow them to grow.
We must protect our forests because we need them as a source of life, to make rain, to regulate the climate, and to breathe fresh air. Forests are suffering – worldwide – and their disappearance threatens millions of species.

The impacts of the climate crisis include world hunger, global warming, polluted air, water, and soil, species extinction, and crop failures. This affects each and every one of us, because we mustn't believe that we are the only living beings on a sick planet who remain healthy. In nature, everything is interconnected.
As always, the fight against our environmental problems requires people to lead the way. People like Greta Thunberg, who make climate change more tangible. Or simply people like you and me, who pay attention to an environmentally conscious lifestyle in their everyday lives and thus make a positive impact on the world.
